Bob Phipps commenced his career in insurance claims in 1980 after obtaining his Bachelor of Science Degree at McMaster University. He has been with Bannatyne & Company since 1989. He is recognized as one of the industry’s leading adjusters in the handling of large property losses. Bob’s experience extends to all types of claims and he is fully licenced by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Bob is an instructor with the Insurance Institute of Ontario, and is a past president of the Hamilton Chapter of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association.

John Powell, Vice President

C.I.P.

John Powell has also been with Bannatyne & Company since 1989, after having graduated from Mohawk College in the Business Insurance Program. John has experience handling all types of claims, and is also recognized in the industry as an adjuster with extensive knowledge and experience in handling large property, and liability claims. John has extensive experience handling accident benefit claims, and is current on all SABS handling requirements. He is fully licenced in all lines by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

Peter Walker, Senior Adjuster

C.I.P.

Peter Walker began his adjusting career in 1985 after successfully completing the Business Insurance Program at George Brown College. He has worked exclusively as an independent adjuster throughout his career. Peter joined Bannatyne and Company in 2005. He is fully licenced in all lines by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and specializes in automobile tort investigations, municipal liability losses and personal and commercial lines property claims. Peter has had articles published in the Without Prejudice magazine relating to the handling of claims.

Karen Sunter, Senior Adjuster

Karen Sunter began adjusting claims in 1982. During her career she has investigated claims covering a wide range of losses, and is licenced to handle all lines of claims by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. For the past 18 years Karen has specialized in accident benefit and automobile tort claims. She is continuously expanding her substantial knowledge of the SABS and is a recognized expert within the industry in the handling of catastrophic injury claims. Karen joined Bannatyne and Company in 2010.

Alyson Harper, Adjuster

Alyson Harper joined Bannatyne & Company in 2008 after graduating from Mohawk College in the Business Insurance Program. She has gained significant knowledge and experience in the handling of municipal liability claims. Alyson has also investigated commercial and personal lines property claims, general liability claims and automobile tort losses. She is a member of the Executive Counsel for the Hamilton Chapter of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association.
